Brent crude trading higher at $80.22/bbl

Crude oil prices increased Rs86 to Rs6,220 per barrel in futures trade as participants widened their positions following a firm spot demand. Globally, West Texas Intermediate (WTI) crude oil was up by 1.04 per cent to $74.66 per barrel, and Brent crude traded 1.05 per cent lower at $80.22 per barrel in New York.

On MCX, crude oil for January delivery traded higher by Rs86 or 1.4 per cent at Rs6,220 per barrel in 11,862 lots. Analysts said raising of bets by participants kept crude oil prices higher in futures trade.
